Hawkfest 2007 was brought to rousing close with the
performance by
TOSH
Otherwise known as the -
Technicians Of Spaceship Hawkwind
Who were originally put together, so myth has it a
mere 10 minutes or so before a gig on last years
Christmas jaunt when no support band was present!
Usually the line up consists of Hawkwind road crew Keef,
Dibs and Billy, however on this special
evening they were augmented by both Dave and
Richard, as well as Huw Lloyd Langton, Spacehead's
Floyd, Martin formerly of Krel and a couple of
"Coyote Wrecks", not forgetting Huw's wife Marion
who also joined in by dancing to a couple of
numbers. Think that's everyone, but if I did forget
anyone then apologies and please let us know and
I'll include you.
And yes, what do you know I did forget someone, my
apologies to John, aka Hawklord of Shields who
contributed to the evenings entertainment with his
own take on "10 Seconds of forever".
Not one but two people left out, how could I have
forgotten the one and only Dumpy who appeared IIRC
during a very fine "Brainstorm" to add to the
mayhem!
A
set of Hawkwind classics followed, with some of the
songs having not been played in many a long year and
I don't think it's too big a claim to say there was
no better way to finish the festival, Glastonbury
eat your heart out ;-)
